Managing R1Soft Backup Service  Print this Article

Most of the management of R1Soft backup service is accomplished from inside the R1Soft Server Backup Manager:
  • Click Home in the top menu bar, then click R1Soft Backup Service under Your Active Products/Services;
On the Manage tab, click on Log In To Control Panel. A new tab will open in your browser and the Backup Manager interface will load. In this interface, you can configure all of your backup jobs, get status and log information, and perform restores. A brief overview of the Backup Manager is below - for more detailed information, click the down arrow next to your name in the upper left corner of the backup manager and select Help, or view this guide:
  • Dashboard - an overview of your backup set, including the number of protected machines and the status of recent actions;
  • Protected Machines - a list of current backup jobs with details on status fo recent backups, disk usage and more. Click the arrow next to each machine to get detailed info; click the gear icon under Actions to get a menu for deploying backup agents, testing connectivity, configuring backup options, viewing logs, performing backups and restores, and more;
  • Reports - create customized reports, run reports and view report output;
  • Settings - view data and work with various Backup Manager settings:
    • Volumes - view detailed statistics for your backup storage: space used, backup details by machine, storage limits and more;
    • Disk Safes - view disk safes (storage pools) for individual machines, set compression properties and backup limits, delete disk safes
    • Policies - view and edit backup and retention policies for individual machines, verify disk safes, specify inclusions/exclusion, database, email and panel backup options, and delete policies.
